VISITORS to Wodonga
are encouraged to take advantage of a number of facilities provided by the council including a swim centre, library and arts venue.
WAVES opened in February, 2013 and is one of the busiest outdoor aquatic facilities in Victoria with more than 80,000 visits a year.
It includes a 50-metre heated outdoor pool, toddler's pool, splash park, cafe and amenities.
WAVES, located at 8 Mactier St, is open seven days a week.
A 25-metre indoor heated pool is provided at the Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre, located in Hedgerow Crt.
The centre also offers group fitness classes, a gym, sauna and spa, as well as a five-court stadium which caters for sports such as basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton.
The Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre is also open seven days a week.
For something a bit more relaxed, try the Wodonga Library, which has a large range of books, DVDs and magazines.
A number of other services are also available such as photocopying, faxing and free wireless internet.
The library is located at 126 Hovell St and opens from Monday to Saturday.
One of Wodonga's main attractions is Arts Space Wodonga, located at the corner of Lawrence and Hovell streets.
The council-run venue provides for unique exhibitions, intimate performances, workshops, recitals and forums featuring local regional and imported cultural works.
It also regularly features a showcase of dynamic art works by North East Victorian artists.
Arts Space Wodonga is open from Monday to Saturday.
The council also operates the Wodonga Visitor Information Centre at 69 to 73 Hovell St.
The centre has all the information you need for your visit to the region, as well as a range of Wodonga merchandise such as tea towels, stubby holders and woodwork, as well as a wide variety of local produce and wines.
Free wireless internet is also available.
The visitor centre is open from 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
